This lecture will offer an easy-to-understand introduction to the discovery of exoplanets, and look ahead to important future space and ground-based observation projects around the world. The speaker will also present cutting-edge observation work being done at the Yunnan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, explaining how scientists use observation data to characterize and evaluate the habitability of these distant worlds.
